Belmont FC is delighted to host the "AJOD 7s” Cup in memory of former club member Andrew J. O'Donnell. This is a 7/a/side tournament with all proceeds of the event to be donated to the Kevin Bel Repatriation Trust(KBRT). Remembering AJOD & Giggsy - Andrew J. O'Donnell known to his friends as AJOD, was one of two former students at St. Michael's College that tragically died on the Greek Island of Los in July 2023: the other being his friend, Max Wall (known as Giggsy). They are dearly remembered and missed by their families and friends.

AJOD & Belmont FC - Andrew was a prolific footballer from an early age, playing with Railway Union, Belmont FC and St.Michael's College teams over the years. He played with Belmont FC from 2013 to 2021, in teams managed by Declan Buckley, Stephen O'Connor and his Dad, Gavin. In 2017, Andrew was part of the successful U12 squad that won both the SDFL league Division 1 and League Cup titles. In 2021, he was part of the victorious Covid Cup team.

Throughout all this, Andrew loved getting on the ball and using his wonderful left foot to shoot or create opportunities for teammates. Andrew was a team player, slotting into any position on the pitch as the need demanded. Andrew was always fully committed and gave everything on the pitch. He loved scoring goals and emulating his Liverpool FC idols with his celebrations.
